Horse Training

Helping Horses Reach Their Full Potential

At Hindle Horsemanship, we believe in building a strong foundation of trust, communication, and respect between horse and rider. Our training programs are tailored to each horse’s needs, using gentle and effective techniques that promote confidence, willingness, and long-term success.

We bring out the best in every horse through safe, confident, and thoughtful training.

Whether you’re starting a young horse under saddle or refining the skills of an older horse, we tailor every training program to suit the unique needs of both horse and owner. Led by Alex Hindle and supported by a team of experienced trainers, we combine diverse skills and a shared commitment to thoughtful, ethical horsemanship to help each horse reach their full potential.

Breaking-In Program

Our structured 6-week breaking-in program is designed to set young horses up for long-term success. We focus on creating calm, willing, and respectful horses using clear communication, groundwork foundations, and gradual exposure to ridden work.

This program includes:

  • Introduction to saddling and lunging
  • Foundation groundwork (yielding, desensitisation, float loading, tying up)
  • First rides in a calm, controlled environment
  • Transition to arena and trail riding
  • Basic ridden cues, steering, stop/go, and softness

General Training

Training can be tailored in duration and focus, and is subject to availability. In addition to breaking-in, we also offer:

Re-education

For horses needing a reset, helping them regain balance, confidence, and responsiveness.

Problem-solving

Addressing behavioural challenges to create a calmer, more cooperative horse.

Discipline-specific training

Including Working Equitation, liberty, campdrafting foundations, obstacle work, and more.

Groundwork & confidence building

For float loading, separation anxiety, and other handling concerns.

Horse Sales on Behalf of Clients

We do sell horses on behalf of clients. To ensure we can accurately represent each horse and find the right match, any horse sold through Hindle Horsemanship must complete a minimum of three weeks of training with our team prior to being advertised. We do not sell dangerous horses and will only take on horses that can be responsibly matched with new owners.

This allows us to:

  • Assess and showcase the horse’s abilities honestly
  • Produce high-quality sale material, including professional photos and videos
  • Handle enquiries and in-person inspections with confidence

A commission fee is charged upon sale, which includes the cost of promotion, client communication, and buyer trials.
